• Slow-Releasing Calcium Using Coating Technology Improves Egg Production and Quality by Enhancing Calcium Absorption in Aged Laying Hens

This study evaluated the effects of slow-releasing calcium (SRCa), manufactured using MorningBio's coating technology, on eggshell quality, calcium retention,

and bone metabolism in aged laying hens.

A total of 336, 54-week-old laying hens were used in a 12-week feeding trial. Supplementation with 0.75% SRCa significantly improved eggshell strength and thickness.

At week 12, the proportion of downgraded eggs decreased significantly from 3.5% in the control group to 1.9% in the 0.75% SRCa group.

SRCa supplementation also significantly increased calcium retention and blood calcium concentrations, while reducing bone turnover markers at later post-feeding hours.

These findings highlight the potential of MorningBio's SRCa to improve eggshell quality and calcium utilization in aged laying hens.
